Map Data: Base map tiles and road data are provided by OpenStreetMap contributors and OpenMapTiles.

Not Official: This is an independent community tool and is NOT affiliated with Morgan County government, Tennessee state government, or any official emergency services.

Community Reports: Road condition reports are submitted by community members and may not be verified. Always use caution and your best judgment when traveling.

Traffic and Accident Reporting: This application intentionally does not include traffic or accident reporting data. There are any number of existing applications that provide this data and/or capability.

About This Application

StormPath is a community-powered road status platform that gives residents, travelers, and emergency personnel a shared, real-time view of road conditions.

  • View and report road conditions in real time — including snow, ice, fallen trees, downed power lines, accidents, road closures, and active helicopter landing zones.
  • Community-sourced data enables rapid situational awareness immediately following severe weather or other emergencies.
  • Confirmed reports from verified first responders are automatically marked with a trusted badge and can feed directly into Waze via the built-in CIFS partner feed.
  • First Responder Quick Report allows credentialed responders to submit a confirmed incident in two taps from the field.
  • Aid community leaders, emergency management, first responders, highway maintenance, and utilities in making informed, timely decisions.
  • Reduce telephone and radio traffic to report road conditions, freeing E911 dispatchers and EOC personnel to focus on critical tasks.
  • Role-based accounts — community users, verified first responders, and administrators — keep reporting trustworthy and controlled.
  • Real-time push updates via Mercure ensure every connected device sees new reports the moment they are submitted.

Instructions

How to View Reports

  1. Browse the Map: Road segments with active reports are highlighted in different colors based on their status.
  2. Click on Highlighted Roads: Click any colored road segment to see detailed report information.
  3. Use the Sidebar: Switch to the "Reports" tab to see a list of all active reports, searchable by road name.
  4. Check the Legend: The "Legend" tab shows what each color means.

How to Submit a Report

  1. Select a Road: Click on any gray (unreported) road on the map.
  2. Choose Segment: Select which part of the road you're reporting (entire road, single segment, or multiple segments).
  3. Select Status: Choose the current road condition from the available options.
  4. Add Notes (Optional): Provide additional details about the condition (max 500 characters). When reporting trees or power lines down, the GPS coordinates where you clicked will be prepopulated in the notes. On both desktop and mobile versions, there is a "Click map to set location" button that will allow you to refine the GPS coordinates by clicking on the map. On the mobile version, there will also be a "Use my GPS location" button to use your device's current location.
  5. Submit: Click "Submit Report" to save your report.

Note: Reports automatically expire after 3 days to keep information current.

Status Types

  • Clear: Road is passable with normal conditions
  • Snow Covered: Road has snow coverage
  • Icy: Road has ice or icy patches
  • Blocked - Tree: Road is blocked by a fallen tree
  • Blocked - Power Line: Road is blocked by a downed power line
